Hello! I am Helena,

Thank you for booking a photoshoot with me. I cannot wait to meet you!

I have put together a little welcome guide to help you plan for your photoshoot and know what to expect, what to wear, what to bring and what happens after the shoot.

Really looking forward to taking your photos soon.

The Process

  • Thank you for filling out your questionnaire and signing your contract so I can find out as much as possible about you and your family. Have a think about what to wear and source anything you may need. The best outfits are neutral with lots of texture. (see style guide below)

  • make sure you have your outfits laid out on the bed and that everything is washed and ironed! Plan your journey to The Artpad. The closest parking is Laura Place or The Holborn. Head down Pulteney Street and you will see a door with a sign at 62 Great Pulteney Street.

  • Arrive at The Artpad, 62 Great Pulteney Street in plenty of time to find parking and walk to me.

The session will be indoors in the gallery it will run for 25 minutes. In this time we will have a chance to chat and take your portraits.

There are some steps into the Artpad.

  • Within 10 days of the session, I will send you your online gallery via PICTIME. I will send up to 15-20 images. You can download 5 and if you want more it is £15 per image or £99 for the whole gallery. There is no obligation to print via my store, however I offer competitive rates and the quality is fantastic.

For the first time ever I will also use my film camera and I can print one of the images in my darkroom which is so exciting! A perfect Christmas gift!

For any prints please make sure you put the order in by 17 December to ensure they get to you by Christmas.

What to bring?

I should have everything you need here, however if you are bringing children, please bring a change of clothes for children and any nappies & wipes they may need.

It is also worth having their favourite toy or blanket in a bag in case they need to feel comfortable.

After your session:

Around 10 days after your session you will receive up to 15 images from our session via PicTime. If you would like prints then do not hesitate to get in touch. I use some gorgeous papers and have very competitive rates. You will receive a £50 money off voucher for you or a friend redeemable on any future photoshoot including branding and portraits (valid for a year).

Please stay in touch!

Style Guide

The question I am asked the most is 'what do I wear to my shoot?'

The idea behind this photoshoot is to have some cosy Winter Portraits of you and/ or your family you can enjoy over the festive period but will also still look great on your mantelpiece well into the new year!

In terms of outfits, think cosy knitwear, neutral colours (colours you find in nature so nothing too neon), soft socks and layers. The studio will be warm so your children should be comfortable in a plain t-shirt or shirt. If you have some sparkle that you would like to wear that would look great too, and will add a touch of glamour to the photos.

We will have a duvet and pillows and we will create a little nest for you to sit and read and play in as if you are having a snuggly Sunday morning in bed!

Parents: Jeans and a plain shirt will look great, equally a neural coloured dress will work too. Think greys, beige, creams, rust colours.

I have a couple of dresses you are welcome to try on the day or get in touch and you can stop by my studio in Bear Flat to try them on.
